In celebration of September’s National Honey Month, New York Hilton Midtown is welcoming 450,000 adopted bees to the hotel’s fifth floor, 16,000-square-foot green rooftop, five blocks from Central Park’s bevy of nectar. Today, the six buzzing hives were escorted via a vintage yellow taxi to the hotel where hotel team members awaited their colleagues’ arrival.
To support threatened bee populations in Sweden, Hilton Stockholm Slussen placed beehives on its rooftop already in the spring of 2011. The hotel is one of 13 other Hilton properties in Europe that have since then installed beehives as part of their commitment to preserving the environment.
Hilton Milton Keynes celebrated Earth Hour 2017 from 8:30p.m.-9:30p.m. on Saturday, March 25. The hotel is taking action locally to conserve energy and raise awareness of climate change, joining a global initiative that is open to Hilton’s more than 4,900 properties across 104 countries and territories.
Hilton Addis Ababa announced a partnership with Sealed Air-Diversey – known for their pioneering approach in developing innovative solutions for waste reduction, resource conservation and product security. Sealed Air Diversey will repurpose used soap bars through ‘Soap for Hope’, a program which provides hygiene for communities in need.
Throughout October Hilton London Metropole will be inviting guests to tuck into fabulous, fresh and sustainable fish at the hotel’s contemporary Fiamma restaurant in celebration of National Seafood Week (7th-14th October). Showcasing the company’s long-term commitment to the responsible sourcing of fish, the Hilton London Metropole team has compiled a tantalising menu of signature dishes which – in keeping with organiser Seafish’s objective – aims to “encourage more people, to eat more fish, more often.”
Hilton Waikīkī Beach on Kūhiō received the Hawaii Green Business Award from the state of Hawaii on Friday, August 5. The hotel was one of eight businesses honored for their efforts in energy efficiency. The awards were presented by Gov. David Ige and hosted by the Hawaii State Energy Office, Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) and the Department of Health.
